Love for construction workers

Meet Francisca from the small town of Mutengene in Cameroon, who currently resides in Sweden. Talents, to her, are meant to shine and be noticed, and that's precisely what she is trying to do at the Medieinstitutet in Malmö as she studies digital content creation.

In her work, "Love for Construction Workers," she wants construction workers to be seen as a symbol of beauty, elegance and wellness. Francisca uses collage as a medium, where various materials and objects are glued together, just like the bricks and pipes that are laid during the construction of a building.

"When I was given the task to create a collage, I could not think about anything else, but construction workers. Where I live, construction works have been underway for the past two years. Therefore, I have seen the dedication and effort the workers put in in all weather conditions, and in the end, beautiful buildings are created," says Francisca.

Francisca uses women to showcase this love. Why?

"It's difficult to argue that most construction companies are run by men. But these workers are away from their loved ones, and I wanted to show appreciation, attention and care. For this very reason, I chose to use women as the models for the collection."

Living in Sweden was a good decision that she made in her life. However, a warmer sweater was needed at the beginning.
